June 14:
First rangers are hired. No gun policy is established. 800 snares removed per day.

2000
January 2000:
First elephants return to Rukinga.
December 2000:
Rammed earth Ecofactory completed.


2001
January 2001:
First school is built.

August 2001:
First finished tee comes off the production line.

August 2001:
Four out of the big five return to Rukinga.

2002 - 2003
Launch direct-to-consumer website.

2005: Wildlife Works takes financial responsibility for protecting Rukinga Sanctuary.

June 2005
Produced fashion show for U.N. World Environment Day in SF.

2007
Pilot pop-up store opens in San Francisco

2008: Debut at London Fashion Week
2009

January 2009:
Wildlife Works Carbon LLC founded.
February 2009:
Started work on certifying the first REDD+ pilot project with Kasigau, Kenya.
December 2009:
Received first CCB Gold Validation for biodiversity and community excellence for Kasigau.



2010
January 2010:
Launched community phase of REDD project in Kasigau to expand protection area to 500,000 acres (from original 80,000) which provides carbon credit income to 5,000 local land owners and co-benefits to 100,000 people in the surrounding area.
September 2010: Launched VCS REDD+ Methodology Development Program.

2011
January 2011:
Received double approval of VCS methodology.
March 2011:
Started work on Mai Ndombe REDD+ Project.
April 2011:
Relaunched Wildlife Works Retail.
February 2011:
Kasigau project delivered the world's first REDD VCS Carbon Credits.

2012 - 2013
January 2012:
Founded Code REDD, a nonprofit to grow the market and cross industry support for REDD credits.
June 2012:
Global launch of Code REDD at the 20th Anniversary of the Rio Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro Brazil.
December 2012:
Validation and 1st Verification of
Mai Ndombe REDD+ Project.

2015
February 2015: Launched Stand for Trees, a direct to consumer platform to sell REDD+ credits and grow awareness for protecting forests to fight climate change.
April 2015: We partnered with Prince EA to produce "Dear Future Generations: Sorry" that received over one hundred million views and brought $500k in consumer offsets purchases to Stand for Trees.
2016 - 2017
2016: Started providing consulting services for other REDD+ projects.
November 2016: IFC lists world's first Forest Bond that pays Wildlife Works credits as dividends on London Stock Exchange.
March 3 2017: Rob Dodson, Head of African Operations passed. His spirit lives on in our hearts. He will forever be the soul of Kasigau.

November 2017: Shell becomes an offset customer and launches consumer offset campaign with Wildlife Works credits at the pump in select countries in Europe.
2018
May 2018: Started work in Colombia: USAID awarded us management of 8 REDD+ projects in Colombia under Program Paramos y Bosques
October 2018: Mai Ndombe REDD+ Project nested under jurisdictional program, making it the first program in the world to make it through the World Bank pipeline to nest a project within a jurisdictional program.
December 2018: Issued first REDD+ credits for the Southern Cardamom REDD+ Project in Cambodia in partnership with Wildlife Alliance after successful validation and verification in August.



2019
March 2019: BNP Paribas Asset Management launches "carbon neutral" fund offset with Wildlife Works credits. Press release.
June 2019: Opened first Wildlife Works retail store in Nairobi.
